With this project, the renowned artist Jana Dettmer proposes an inspiring and atmospheric symbiosis of space and art, designed for both indoor and outdoor settings at exclusive properties. The expressive, colorful works accurate the unique qualities of a space while lending it a special ambience.

The Square Project is differrent from traditional art installations in the way it incorporates the setting as an integral part of the artwork. In the installtions, Jana Dettmer adapts the size, number, arrangement and color composition of the squares to the character of the respective spcae. This results in individual art works that blend harmoniously into the architecture and furnishing concept of the property.

The creative process. Intense color experience and strict geometry.
Jana Dettmer's works are distinguised by areas of vivid color and a strict geometric arrangement. “The Square Project” consists of square pictures painted expressively in mixed media on wood or canvas. The artist's painting process is intuitive and dynamic. By experimenting with varied tools, Jana Dettmer succeeds at creating lively textures and shading.
The finished images are reproduced and printed behind 6 - 10 millimeter-thick acrylic glass. This mounting creates a special depth effect and an intensifying high-gloss finish that makes the colors appear even more vibrant.
The artist arranges the acrylic squares into individualized, large-scale geometric grids that captivate viewers with their range of colors and depth.

The square plays a central role in Jana Dettmer's works. With its two horizontal and two vertical lines, it symbolizes both boundaries and the possibility of overcoming them. With her installations, the artist wants to convey to viewers the courage to resolutely set off on new paths.

Color composition, square size and arrangement are individually designed by Jana Dettmer for each work and each location.
The modular Square Project can be arranged for walls of any size and proportion. The material is UV-resistant and suitable for outdoor use.The individual squares can be installed directly on the wall or alternatively on a carrier plate in the respective wall color.
