The academy combines a high artistic standard with uncomplicated accessibility. In a special working atmosphere, international lecturers and like-minded people find valuable artistic exchange.
I was fortunate enough to be able to participate in the summer academy with Prof. Markus Lüpertz and the other lecturers Friedrich Dieckgießer, Leander Kresse, and Reinhold Braun.
Each artist was free to choose their own colors, canvases, or other materials. I decided to transfer sketches of abstract landscapes from my sketchbook onto large canvases. We painted every day from 9 a.m. until the evening hours, sometimes even at night. Throughout the day, all lecturers regularly provided each artist with advice and tips. The several daily discussions of the paintings with Prof. Lüpertz were a real added value for all the artists, exciting, instructive, and entertaining. For me, it was a great week that I would not have wanted to miss for anything!
